Thank you for visiting my website. Consciously Creative was birthed for the artist warrior inside of me that needed more “space to play.” The side of me that wants to attract others who believe everyone is innately creative and that we create abundance when we are aligned with our creativity. In my non-art (but still creative) life,
I am a full-time entrepreneur who helps social impact and non-profit organizations grow through marketing and communications. I am a strong advocate for developing youth as leaders, empowering women entrepreneurs, and I love serving my community.
I live in Prince George, BC Canada with my rock star hubby (who edits everything I write) and two tweens. In my spare time, I love to garden, doodle, paint, and journal while listening to an audiobook or a podcast. I may or may not have an addiction to Netflix, Amazon Prime & Apple tv.
My creative side is always with me and I usually have a jiffy marker or post-it notes nearby. One of my obsessions (and I have many!) is finding hidden treasures while thrifting. I recently converted an old 1970's trailer into my art studio called Betsy. I also purchased a vintage turquoise Singer (#185J) sewing machine that I have named Elaine.
Please follow my creative adventures with Betsy, Elaine and my artistic ramblings on Instagram
May my artwork bring as much joy to you as it does to me while creating it! Shop my store here.
The whimsical style of Shauna Harper’s paintings are grounded in the multi-colors of her childhood box of crayola crayons. Her love of how the butter-like texture of acrylic paint meets the canvas keeps her coming back to her easel. A self-taught artist, she starts almost all her paintings with a dark (black or brown) base. As inspiration comes to her, it appears as if she pulls colors out of the canvas when in fact she is adding it in. In most areas of Shauna’s life, when inspired, creativity flows out of her quickly, intuitively, and endlessly. Her paintings often have recurring symbols of heritage homes, twisted buildings, surreal trees and – once in a while – people with crazy hair. Shauna aspires to connect with the pure joy of childhood in each of us. Check out her blog to learn a bit more about her creative journey. Click here, here and here to view some of her art videos.
Shauna Harper was a full time artist and creator from 2000-2009 through her company Color the Universe Inc. From her small yet mighty work-live loft studio in downtown Vancouver, BC, Canada, she sold her art, prints and inspirational glass stone magnets to over 300+ giftstores, bookstores and yoga studios across Canada & USA through sales reps and through distributors in Australia, the UK and Singapore. She put her art and business on hold after having 2 kids in 2 years and moving to a smaller community in Northern BC. In 2019, she began her 2nd phase as a professional artist and began painting after an inspiring trip to the artistic town of San Miguel De Allende cracked open her creativity again.
